Judith has praised the role of a Bradford business in the UK’s naval defence during a recent visit in her constituency.

Dent Steel Services is a well-respected steel stockholder and service company, with a specialist knowledge of the Naval, Marine and Infrastructure sectors.

Judith was keen to learn more about how Dent Steel Services plays a pivotal role in the local community and nationally in supporting the ‘New Era’ for UK Defence.

Based on part of the site of the former Low Moor Ironworks, Dent Steel Services has a proud history in the Naval Defence sector, supplying structural steel and expertise to British Royal Navy Frigate and Submarine build programmes for over 30 years. With Dent Steel’s 50th Anniversary in 2026, Judith was interested to learn how this Bradford-based business is now exporting its industry-leading services on a global scale.

Welcoming the visit, Chris Stokes, Managing Director said:

“Dent Steel Services is proud to support highly skilled jobs in the local community that we have called home since 1976. As we continue to grow and expand our strategic offerings, including our multi-million-pound strategic investment plan, we appreciate Judith’s support for our plans to bring more skilled employment to Bradford South”

Speaking after the visit, Judith said:

"It is inspiring to see a Bradford South business thriving as part of the new era of UK defence. Dent Steel Services is a fantastic example of how a local business, supporting the community with highly skilled jobs within its workforce and supply chain, can play a vital role in the UK’s defence with truly national and international significance"
