Last week Judith delivered the welcome speech at the opening of PwC’s new Bradford office, talking about how she wants to give every child equal opportunities.
The event was hosted at PwC’s new offices on Godwin Street, with senior regional figures such as Dame Julia Cleverdon, Chair of the National Literacy Trust, David Baldwin, Chief Executive of Burnley FC and Chair of Bradford Economic Partnership, Roger Marsh, Chair of Leeds City Region Local Enterprise partnership, and Nav Chohan, Chair of Leeds City Region Skills Network, all in attendance.
Judith Cummins MP comments: “It is great to welcome an internationally recognised company such as PwC to our city, and it is a sign that Bradford is on the rise. As the youngest city in the country, we have a chance to do very well over the next decade, but we need to be in a position to take advantage of this.
“We must provide the very best skills and knowledge that our children deserve, whether this is through academic education, vocational education or apprenticeship schemes. All three have a part to play. But that is only half the job. The opportunities need to be here for our children to take, and I look forward to welcoming more companies over the coming years.
“With the right combination of education and opportunity, Bradford will continue to go from strength to strength.”
